Studio Etiquette
Welcome to Firefly! At our studio, we believe that while each yoga practice is personal, every class is a shared experience. To ensure a harmonious environment and the best collective experience for everyone, we have established some studio etiquette guidelines. These recommendations aim to create a welcoming atmosphere where everyone’s comfort and well-being are valued.
Our Commitment:
-
We strive to see the best in each other, fostering a culture of tolerance and kindness.
-
Please communicate any concerns; your feedback helps us improve and maintain our inclusive environment.
Mindful Presence:
-
Enter and exit quietly for yoga classes.
-
Set up your space mindfully, as these moments before class might be the only quiet time in someone's day.
-
Keep conversations hushed, especially during others' resting phases, to provide a serene space for everyone.
Respecting Sensitivities:
-
Avoid wearing strong perfumes, fragranced products, and scented lotions to consider fellow participants with sensitive noses.
-
Recognize that any odor, intentional or not, is amplified in our heated studio room.
-
If you smoke, please ensure you are odor-neutral before entering the yoga room.
Unplug and Disconnect:
-
Please silence your cell phones and leave them outside the activity area. Airplane mode works well for smartwatches.
-
Exceptions for medical professionals on call—please use vibrate mode.
Embracing Silence:
-
Yoga classes: Maintain silence before and after classes, recognizing that this may be the only quiet time some experience in their day.
-
We encourage you to meet your community members and share conversations in the lobby before and after class.
-
If you have to leave the room, please exit quietly.
Late Arrivals:
-
Aim to arrive at least 10 minutes before class begins to settle in and enjoy a moment of silence.
-
Doors lock at the start of class. If you know you are running late, please try to contact us. We don't always have someone at the desk to let you in if you arrive late.
Savasana:
-
Embrace the stillness and noble silence during savasana – please keep it sacred for others.
-
If you have to leave class early, it’s best to leave before savasana, so as to not disrupt those in rest.
After Class:
-
Please wipe down any props or rental mats with the provided cleaner and towels and return to the shelves and/or front desk.
-
Please be mindful of others still in rest in the studio room.
Thank you!
We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines to help create a positive and inclusive space for all members of our community. Together, let's make our studio a place where everyone feels comfortable and supported.
