Janette Nunez

Introduction:

Hi! I’m Janette (she/her), and I grew up in Santa Cruz, California. I’ve been part of the Firefly

community for about five months. I originally came to Firefly looking for a way to add more

movement into my life and was drawn to the diversity of classes and instructors. What’s truly

kept me here, though, is the community — the kindness, the welcoming energy, and the

encouragement you can feel in every class.

Beyond the Studio:

Outside the studio, Janette is a librarian at Michigan State University, where she works in Latin American & Caribbean Studies, American Indian and Indigenous Studies, and Special Collections. When she needs to reset, she turns to movement or spending time playing with her dog — both guaranteed mood-boosters. She’s also a fan of smoothies and matcha, especially as a post-class treat.
